So let's back track to Day 1. You know, the day my school decided to hold A POTLUCK THANKSGIVING DINNER FOR EVERYONE.
THIS WAS JUST THE DESSERT TABLE.
Ugh, pure torture. And they had enough for leftovers on Friday. But alas, I stuck to the food I had cooked and brought for lunch. Which included zoodles!
The process is simple, just invest in one of these bad boys:
And god bless my mother who nearly died from laughter from having to ask the cashier for this utensil by name. "....Veggetti?! YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME; I'M NOT GOING TO ASK SOMEONE FOR THAT HAHAH"
(Mature, mother.)
Anyway, this week also consisted of making homemade ghee once again. Y'know, just boiling butter until all the nasty stuff burns off and you strain it through to make LIQUID GOLD.
I can guarantee that it is not, in fact, piss. Just a delicious alternative to dairy butter! Ghee also goes fabulously with the zoodles from the veggetti (am I even speaking English anymore?)
And last but not least:
WHOLE FOODS!
Honestly? Not that much more expensive. There were a few items (like avocados) that I just could not handle purchasing (SIX DOLLARS FOR FOUR?!), but most of it was very reasonable. I got everything I needed for the week (excluding thanksgiving)
and it was only slightly more expensive than my regular groceries.
AND THE MEAT. Oh man, their meat was gorgeous. I took my photo the day after I bought it, and it just doesn't do it justice. Everything was cut to order and beautiful. I had been dying for a while to start buying more ethically raised me and it was totally worth it!
Anyway, next post will probably be over how I deal with Thanksgiving. Because I'm not really sure what my game plan is yet.
